Growing up it wasn’t uncommon to find Certified Proof Productions’ CEO/Producer “Rico” listening to music that his parents grew up on. Often times they would tell him that he grew up in the wrong era, due to the liking of their music.
During his pre-teens and mid-teens years, on Sunday mornings you would find “Rico” playing the drums for his church. In his late teens/early 20s, “Rico” took an interest in music a step further and began to DJ with a local mobile DJ company “Midnight Express”. “Rico” could be found keeping the crowd live at parties for every occasion.
Always striving for more, “Rico” connected with DJ Bass, where he successful became apart of DJ Bass’ underground radio station 88.7FM. Known as DJ Showtime, “Rico” commanded the underground airwaves with listeners ranging from Carol City to Liberty City. As time passed by, “Rico” was known as “DJ Shorty the Pimp” on the original 89.1FM, where he remained an on air DJ for quite sometime.
As years moved on, “Rico” has put out several mixtapes from “We Got Next”, “Global Warning” to name a few featuring local/national unsigned artists. In 2009, what started out to be a mobile DJ company, “Rico” along with his sister and cousin formed Madhouze Entertainment. As time progressed, “Rico” decided to once again further his music passion and decided that he wanted to experiment with creating tracks for artists. Instead of being a mobile DJ company, Madhouze Entertainment had now focused on doing the music production for artist.
In 2010, “Rico” was presented with a great opportunity to work as an in house producer with a newly formed independent record label in South Florida. As a result, Madhouze Entertainment had now become Certified Proof Productions. While working with the independent record label, “Rico” made the track for Miami’s artist JDOT aka JVZEE single entitled “I Wouldn’t Do That” with the remix featuring Miami’s own “Rick Ross”.
“Rico” continues to strive to become one of the hottest producers not only in South Florida but nationwide. As CEO of Certified Proof Productions, “Rico” has the task of juggling the role as CEO and Head Producer of the company.
In 2012, not limiting his abilities and dreams, “Rico” along with his sister will be establishing a record label and management company. Through the music production/record label and management company, “Rico” goal is to help unsigned/independent artist fulfill their dreams and passion for music
