Dr. Scot Brown is not just a historian of music, he makes it.
Brown -- a renowned scholar, music historian and commentator -- who's made appearances on HBO/Cinemax, TV One, VHl, Sirius/ XM Radio, BET /Centric, National Public Radio and PBS, recently released his debut single, "Last Man", a danceable and uplifting tune inspired by a style of Reggae music known as Lovers Rock.
Brown's experience as a musician and songwriter is the untold force behind his dynamic insights, artist interviews and presentations. Having grown up in Rochester, NY he played in a local band called Radiance during his high school years, and always kept his funk shield close while combining his love of music and history to become a published author, educator, and public speaker. "Last Man” features two of his musical comrades from Rochester, NY: singing sensation Mr. Ric, and guitar whiz/vocalist, Rick Marcel. The song also includes a rap verse by fellow UCLA professor, Bryonn Bain.
Dr. Brown considers "Last Man" as a call "to see beauty in one another during these challenging times."
